Each screening is a new adventure, and this past July’s events were no exception. We began in Nahant, Mass, where we screened at Northeastern University’s Marine Science center. It has been a long drive for us, but it was with surprise and happiness that we screened the film to a group in an old WWII bunker that serves as a screening room and housing facility for a wide variety of marine wildlife and whale bones, among other things. Much thanks to Carole McCauley and everyone who helped with the screening.

In Concord, Mass, we had the pleasure of showing the film at the Stark Sister’s Granola store where they made room for everyone who attended by moving isles of produce and food. It was a good turnout with a lot interest in Port Clyde Fresh catch– in fact, we discovered during the Q&A that it’s sold right there in the store! Our thanks to Debra Stark and Jim Leahy who made it all possible.

Finally we returned to a theater in Boothbay, Maine where the Boothbay Region Land Trust hosted us at the Harbor Theater. It was an excellent screening and an interesting visit at the Boat Builder’s Festival in East Boothbay. Thanks so much to Nancy Adams, Carolyn Shubert, and the Lewis Family.

The Camden International Film Festival was a huge success! Leading up to the premiere director Will Hyler was the talk of the festival doing several newspaper interviews as well as the local news. Then the movie premiered to a completely sold out audience at the Strand Theater, something not yet done in the history of the festival. The buzz leading up to the film wasn’t unfounded and everyone involved with the film couldn’t be more excited.

A big thanks to the CIFF and everyone involved for a great festival and wonderful world premiere!
